# After installing MapWinGISv5.3

I can’t run the program after installing please, someone help I have to start my master thesis and I cant even run it. Do I need any program to run it ?

You may be misunderstanding what MapWinGIS is. It’s a mapping component that you use inside your own C, C#, or VB application. It’s not a standalone application. I believe that there are some sample apps that you could play with to become familiar with the tool.
