# Read map data from file .xlsx

hello everyone.  
I have a file boundaries of provinces and district which is .xlsx extension. How to load data from this file.

Hello @tiennguyen

If it is going to work through MapWinGIS, it would be an OGR layer, and would have to comply with the GDAL XLS Driver. Check out [their documentation here](https://gdal.org/drivers/vector/xls.html#vector-xls).

I’m not sure there is enough information in just the XLSX alone to create a layer.
