Identifier in Excel VBA

In this forum I found a subroutine I could use in VBA-Excel to identify a shapefile. It works fine. However, I have several identical polylines in a shapeile and when I click in one of them, the routine give me layerhandle=-1 and shapeindex=-1. If I open the shapefile in MapWindow 5, for instance, and perform the same operation, the identifier identify every polyline as different geometries.

Someone has an idea about how to solve this?

Can you show the code for what you’re trying to do in Excel? I know that there have been issues recently when trying to run through MS Access, and there may be similar issues from Excel.
