We’ve been working hard on automating steps that can be automated.
One of those steps is generating and publishing the API documentation.
The documentation at MapWinGIS: MapWinGIS ActiveX Control is a bit outdated, the URL is misleading and we have had no FTP access to mapwindow.org for years.
I’ve moved the documentation part into a new repository: github.com/MapWindow/MapWindow-Documentation. This repo already contains the HTML files for the website and for the API documentation. A placeholder is created for the documentation of MapWindow5.
I also implemented Github Actions making the generating of the documentation run automatically on every commit. These files are then published to Github pages: mapwindow.github.io/MapWindow-Documentation/mapwingis
It is now using a temporary URL. I’m trying to get in touch with the owner of mapwindow.org to let it point to these Github pages.
The documentation hasn’t been updated yet, but I’ll be working on that in the coming weeks.
I will also try to change the style a bit more and use a dark theme so we don’t get blinded every time we look at the page
